High quality atkins diet food

The Atkins diet food menus are relatively low in carbohydrates. The diet advocates that eating food low in carbohydrates will help you loose weight and keep it off throughout your life.

Below is a sample of an Atkins menu for breakfast, lunch and supper. The diet meals are rich in protein, but are very low in carbohydrates. It is recommended that you do not eat more than 20 grams of carbohydrates per day during the induction phase of the diet. The induction phase lasts for two weeks (fourteen days). This is the phase in which you loose weight the most rapidly due to the low intake of carbohydrates.

Sample Daily Atkins Food Menu of 20 grams of Carbohydrates

Breakfast

Three-egg omelet with avocado. Mozzarella cheese and tomato. Decaffeinated coffee with cream.

Lunch Beef round steak (8 oz.) Spinach and mixed leaf salad with mushrooms, onions, celery, and parmesan cheese.

Dinner Broiled Salmon (9 oz.) Kale topped with garlic, lemon and sesame seeds. Atkins menus, especially those that are recommended during the induction phase, do not include fruits, bread, pasta, grains, and starchy vegetables. The only diary products that are included on the Atkins diet food menus during the induction phase are butter and cheese.
